Why Should You See a Doctor After a Car Accident in Hurricane, UT?
Some injuries do not show symptoms right away, and a medical evaluation creates a record that links any injury to the day it happened. Adrenaline can hide pain for hours, and problems such as soft-tissue damage, concussions or internal injuries can take time to appear. Getting checked promptly also helps doctors catch problems early.
In Utah's no-fault system, that record matters because PIP benefits pay medical expenses first, and an insurer may ask when treatment began and whether it matches the injury being claimed.
A gap between the day of the injury and the first appointment can give an insurer room to question what caused the problem. Documented treatment also helps show whether medical expenses are nearing the $3,000 threshold Utah sets for certain claims against another driver.
Follow-up visits, imaging, therapy and the instructions a doctor gives all become part of the record, so it is important to keep appointments and save paperwork. Then, a car accident lawyer can review those records alongside the insurance policies that may apply and explain how treatment history may affect a claim.
