Birdseye, UT (September 8, 2026) – A passenger died in a two-vehicle wreck on State Route 89 near milepost 305 in Birdseye on Monday, September 7.
The Utah Department of Public Safety reported that a northbound Honda Civic crossed the double yellow lines while trying to pass another vehicle and struck a southbound Toyota Tacoma.
The passenger in the Civic died from their injuries. The drivers of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to nearby hospitals.
The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the fatal crash.
