Cutt, Kendell & Olson Lawsuit Over Polaris Off-Road Vehicle Fire Profiled

|

Partner Eric S. Olson and our legal team at Cutt, Kendell & Olson were recently featured in a news segment on Fox 13 Salt Lake City about a case our firm is currently handling.

As noted in the segment, our firm is representing a Utah County couple who were injured when the 2016 Polaris RZR 1000 they were riding in on the Fourth of July suddenly caught fire. The couple, fortunately, made it out alive, but each suffered serious burn injuries from which they are still recovering.

You can view the news coverage below, which features an interview with our firm’s clients and our Partner Eric S. Olson, who shares his insight on the case and previous accidents involving Polaris vehicles our firm has handled.

The harrowing incident described in the segment has formed the basis of a case our firm is bringing against Polaris Industries Inc., the manufacturer of the recreational off-road vehicle (ROV) in which our clients were harmed. However, it is not the only example of defective Polaris products causing unexpected fires and injuries.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), as well as calls our firm has personally received from victims and consumers across the country, certain Polaris ROVs – including the Polaris RZR and Ranger – contain potential defects that pose hazards of serious fires, injuries, and death.

As we discussed in a blog post from earlier this year, those defects led to Polaris recalling hundreds of thousands of dangerous ROVs, and the company’s $27.25 million civil penalty to settle allegations that it failed to report defects in a timely manner to federal regulators. To date, dozens of injuries, at least three deaths, and a massive wildfire have been linked to Polaris ROV fire hazards.

At Cutt, Kendell & Olson, our award-winning legal team is actively reviewing cases involving Polaris vehicle fires nationwide. If you or someone you love has suffered harm and losses caused by a Polaris vehicle fire, please contact us for a FREE review of your case.
