South Jordan, UT (September 15, 2026) – A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after a vehicle struck him while he was riding an e-scooter near Bingham High School around 3:50 p.m. on Monday, September 14.
According to the South Jordan police, the driver was turning right from a dance studio parking lot near 10400 South and 2200 West. The driver looked both ways but did not see the teen approaching.
Police said the boy was legally riding the scooter. The vehicle ran over both of his legs, and he later underwent surgery. He was expected to survive.
The driver did not receive a citation. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
