Draper, UT (May 22, 2026) – A male driver was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries after a crash involving three vehicles and a semi-truck on northbound I-15 near 15000 South in Draper. The Utah Department of Transportation said the collision occurred around 6:45 p.m. and appeared to include at least one vehicle rollover, based on traffic camera footage.
The force of the crash was severe enough to knock the engine completely out of one of the vehicles involved. Four of the six northbound lanes, along with the left shoulder, were closed following the accident, with an initial clearance estimate of nearly three hours.
All lanes were reopened by approximately 8:11 p.m. No additional injuries were confirmed, and the name of the person transported to the hospital was not released.
Investigators continue to examine the wreck.
We hope the man hurt makes a full and steady recovery.
Semi-Truck Crashes in Draper, UT: Legal Rights For Injured Drivers
When a semi-truck is involved in a multi-vehicle crash on a major interstate, the legal questions that follow are often more layered than those in a standard collision between passenger vehicles. In Utah, a person hurt in a crash involving a commercial truck may be eligible to pursue a claim against the truck driver, the trucking company, or both; it depends on the employment relationship, the vehicle's maintenance history, and whether federal safety regulations were followed at the time of the crash.
Moderate injuries in a crash of this magnitude can still carry significant consequences. Spinal trauma, rib fractures, shoulder injuries, and soft tissue damage are all possible outcomes when a vehicle is struck hard enough to displace its engine.
A person who appears stable at the scene may still face weeks of recovery, imaging, and follow-up care before the full picture of their injuries becomes clear. Seeking medical evaluation protects both your legal rights and your health. A medical record can create a direct link to the crash that a truck accident lawyer can later use to build a strong case.
An attorney can also help identify all potentially liable parties and clarify what compensation may be available for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
