What Are The Most Important Roads in Sandy, UT?
Sandy, in Utah, is one of the busiest suburban communities in the Salt Lake Valley, and its road system plays a major role in connecting residents to nearby cities and business centers.
Interstate 15 is the primary highway running through Sandy and serves as one of the most important transportation routes in northern Utah. The freeway connects Sandy to downtown Salt Lake City, Draper, Midvale, and other communities throughout Salt Lake County.
Due to its location along the Wasatch Front, I-15 experiences heavy daily traffic from commuters, commercial vehicles, and travelers moving through the region.
Several major roads in Sandy also help drivers access neighborhoods, shopping districts, schools, and entertainment areas. State Street, also known as US-89, runs north and south through the city and remains one of the area's most heavily traveled surface roads.
Other key routes include 10600 South, 9000 South, and 1300 East, which connect residential communities with major retail and business centers. Monroe Street and Sego Lily Drive also provide important access near the downtown Sandy area and public transit connections.
Sandy continues to grow as both a residential and commercial hub in Utah, leading to increased traffic throughout the city.
As more drivers rely on these major roads each day, accidents are a sad but frequent reality in the city. And while there are plenty of safety measures you can take to protect yourself and the other drivers, multi-vehicle accidents are not always preventable.
