Kearns, UT (June 4, 2026) – A 52-year-old man died on Tuesday, June 2, after two vehicles were involved in an e-scooter crash near 4280 West 115 South in Kearns. Emergency units responded shortly after noon.
According to the Unified Police Department, David Hilifiker was riding on the sidewalk to an appointment when a car turned into a parking lot in front of him. Hilifiker swerved to avoid that vehicle, but a second car traveling on the street struck him.
Emergency units transported Hilifiker to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Hilifiker later died during surgery. Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
