One Injured in Bicycle Crash on E 700 S

St. George, UT (July 29, 2026) – One person was hurt in a wreck involving a car and a bicycle near East 700 South and 900 East in St. George on Tuesday night, July 28. The collision was reported around 10:18 p.m.

Emergency units arrived at the intersection a short time later and assisted the injured cyclist. The cyclist, a 20-year-old man, was awake and breathing when help arrived. He had a head injury and was bleeding, but it remains unclear whether crews took him to a hospital.

The number of people in the car, along with the names and ages of everyone involved, had not been released following the collision.

Authorities are investigating what caused the collision.

Our thoughts go out to the young man as he recovers.

Who Pays My Medical Bills After a Bicycle Crash in St. George, UT?

The driver’s personal injury protection coverage may help pay your medical bills after a bicycle crash in St. George. Utah’s no-fault insurance system may allow an injured cyclist to seek these benefits through the driver’s policy, even though the cyclist was not riding inside the vehicle.

Because medical costs can rise quickly, Utah’s minimum $3,000 in personal injury protection coverage may not last long. Emergency care, imaging, follow-up appointments, and continued medical monitoring can use those benefits sooner than expected.

Once those benefits run out, the driver’s bodily injury liability coverage may become relevant. You may pursue a claim against that coverage when Utah’s legal requirements are met, including the state’s injury threshold for claims against an at-fault driver.

Across St. George’s busiest corridors, cyclists regularly share St. George Boulevard, Bluff Street, River Road, and Sunset Boulevard with turning vehicles. Reduced evening visibility and frequent traffic movements can make these routes especially challenging after dark.

After receiving medical care, keep every bill, discharge paper, imaging result, prescription, and appointment record. Your health insurance may also cover certain expenses, although the insurer may later seek repayment from any settlement you receive.

To protect your claim early, organize insurance letters, claim numbers, receipts, and treatment records in one place. Clear documentation can help show which policy covered each expense and identify any remaining medical balance.

When several insurance policies may apply, a bicycle accident lawyer can review the available coverage and explain which insurer may be responsible for your bills. An attorney can also address personal injury protection benefits, liability coverage, and health-insurance repayment demands.
