Salt Lake City, UT (July 7, 2026) – Four people were injured after a two-vehicle wreck on Tuesday morning, July 7, in Salt Lake City. The collision happened around 1:15 a.m. at 5600 West and 700 South.
Lt. Joe Cyr with the Salt Lake City Police Department said one vehicle turned left at a high rate of speed and collided with another vehicle. The driver of the turning vehicle suffered critical injuries and went to a local hospital. Cyr said the driver is expected to survive.
Police arrested that driver for investigation of driving under the influence. Three people in the second vehicle also went to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash also caused a temporary power outage after one of the vehicles hit a power box during the collision. Crews closed the area through the night while they restored power and cleared the crash scene.
