Duchesne, UT (August 30, 2026) – Three people were killed in a head-on collision involving a semitruck on U.S. 40 near Duchesne on Friday, August 28. The wreck occurred at about 2:12 p.m.
As the Utah Department of Public Safety reported, the semitruck drifted off the right side of the roadway and struck a guardrail. The driver then overcorrected, crossed into westbound traffic, and collided head-on with a 2023 Kia Hatchback.
All three Kia occupants died in the collision. Emergency crews transported the semitruck driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Utah Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the fatal crash.
