Syracuse, UT (August 6, 2026) – Two 13-year-old girls were killed in a wreck involving an electric scooter and a pickup truck at Banbury Drive and Heritage Parkway on Wednesday, August 5.
Initial reports indicate that both girls were riding the same scooter.
Emergency units arrived shortly after 1 p.m. Both riders were pronounced dead at the intersection.
Investigators believe the pickup was towing a trailer and traveling south on Banbury Drive as the scooter headed west on Heritage Parkway. The pickup and scooter collided inside the intersection.
The adult man driving the pickup remained there and cooperated with officers. The girls’ names have not been released.
The Syracuse Police Department continues to investigate the cause.
