Wreck Sends Two to Hospital on State St

South Salt Lake, UT (July 14, 2026) – Two vehicles collided at 2700 South and State Street on Monday afternoon, July 13. The crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. and involved a Ford Bronco and a silver Chevrolet van.

The impact left the Bronco resting on its side. Two people inside the Chevrolet van were taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Northbound State Street closed between Claybourne Avenue and 2700 South following the collision. Both directions of 2700 South also closed from Main Street to Edison Avenue before the roads reopened around 3 p.m.

The Bronco driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officers. The South Salt Lake Police Department continues to investigate what led to the wreck.

We wish both injured people strength and steady progress as they recover from the crash.

What Compensation Can I Recover After a Car Accident in South Salt Lake, UT?

After a South Salt Lake car accident, you may recover medical expenses, lost income, reduced earning ability, property damage, physical pain, and future treatment. The amount depends on documented losses, insurance coverage, and fault. Strong records can support each claimed loss.

Beyond the first hospital bill, financial pressure may continue to grow. Follow-up appointments, tests, medication, therapy, rehabilitation, and necessary travel can increase your expenses. Medical records, receipts, appointment notes, and payment statements can document how those costs developed.

Across South Salt Lake, drivers travel on State Street, 300 West, Interstate 15, and Interstate 80. These corridors carry passenger vehicles, delivery vans, commercial trucks, cyclists, and pedestrians daily. Nearby business or traffic-camera footage may help resolve conflicting accounts.

Once missed work affects your finances, a claim may include income lost during treatment. A serious injury may also reduce future hours, duties, or career opportunities. Pay records, tax documents, employer statements, and medical opinions can demonstrate those losses.

Because another driver may be responsible, liability coverage could pay losses beyond personal injury protection benefits. Utah policies generally provide at least $3,000 for necessary medical services. Some claims may leave the no-fault system when injuries qualify or expenses exceed the threshold.

When fault is disputed, photographs, witness statements, vehicle damage, medical records, and video may become more important. Utah reduces compensation based on your share of fault. Recovery may be unavailable if your fault equals or exceeds the combined fault of others.

As insurers challenge fault, coverage, or damages, building a well-supported claim becomes more important. A car accident lawyer can secure evidence, examine policies, calculate losses, and respond to attempts to reduce compensation. Legal guidance can help keep the process focused and organized.
